What to Wear
Dress Code
There is no dress code. Even if a dance is entitled "ball" or
"cotillion," there is no dress code enforced.
Shoes
Cowboy boots are great, but any leather-soled shoes will work
fine. Brand new boots can be very uncomfortable if they are not broken in yet.
If you have new cowboy boots that are not yet broken in, you may want to bring
an extra pair of shoes to wear before and/or after the dance.
Never wear sandals or loose fitting shoes. A low or medium heel
is OK, but high heels are generally not practical.
Clothing
Actually there are no rules, but you should wear clean,
comfortable, cool clothing. Many dancers bring a change of clothing if they are
prone to perspiring. There is usually a place to change. Since you will be
holding your partners close during the evening, everyone appreciates good
grooming
and hygiene.
Hats
Cowboy hats look great but are very warm to dance in.
Accessories
Bolo ties, etc. also help create the look you might like.
No particular item is required, but by all means, do what works for you!
